Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s grand musical love story, Baiju Bawra, has been one of the most anticipated projects of the filmmaker. While the movie remained the talk of the town for its casting rumours and earlier it was reported that Ranbir Kapoor will be reuniting with Sanjay Leela Bhansali after his Bollywood debut, Saawariya. However, the latest report suggests that it is Ranveer Singh who has been approached.
According to a source close to the development of the movie, Ranbir Kapoor was never approached to play a part in Baiju Bawra. The source claims that Ranbir was last approached by Sanjay Leela Bhansali to play Aditya Roy Kapur’s character in the Hrithik Roshan starrer Guzaarish, and they do not share a great rapport. The source further informs that Ranveer Singh has been the first choice for the movie and the actor has expressed his interest in the script.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has been busy with the pre-production of his ambitious project, Heera Mandi, and now he wants to shift his focus to Baiju Bawra. The movie will be Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s take on the 1952 musical drama film by Vijay Bhatt. While Ranveer Singh has been filmed to play the lead, the rest of the casting is being worked upon by the team.
