Dil Raju briefly mixed up Ranbir Kapoor’s name while addressing the audience at Ramayana’s pre-release event in Hyderabad. The producer and distributor was praising the actor when he accidentally referred to him as Ranveer Singh, before immediately correcting himself.
“One of the best actors we have today is Ranveer Singh garu. Sorry, Ranbir Kapoor garu,” he said, laughing at his mistake.
Before the slip-up, Raju spoke about his association with Ranbir’s films. He recalled distributing Brahmastra and Animal in the region and expressed hope that Ramayana would complete a successful hat-trick. His company, Sri Venkateswara Creations, will distribute the film across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The Hyderabad gathering followed a promotional event in Bengaluru a few days earlier. Ranbir attended alongside Yash, Sai Pallavi, Rakul Preet Singh and Ravie Dubey. Director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra were also present.
The evening included an announcement about the film’s international premiere. Ramayana will have a screening on October 27 at the David Geffen Theatre at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, ahead of its worldwide theatrical release on November 5.
Yash also addressed the audience, speaking about Malhotra’s financial and personal commitment to the project. He urged viewers to approach the film with an open mind rather than concentrate on minor visual-effects flaws.
The actor added that Malhotra had remained receptive to criticism and suggestions, making efforts to improve the film throughout the process.
