Rajinikanth recently shared what he believes is missing from Jailer 2 while promoting the highly anticipated sequel. Speaking at the film’s Super Show, the veteran actor revealed that he wanted Tamannaah Bhatia to feature in another song.
Tamannaah’s special number Kaavaalaa became one of the biggest highlights of the first Jailer. Rajinikanth said he had asked director Nelson Dilipkumar to include a song featuring the actress in the sequel as well.
Nelson, however, told the actor that he could not add a song simply because Rajinikanth personally wanted it. Responding with humour, Rajinikanth explained that his choices are guided by what audiences enjoy rather than only by his own preferences.
During the same event, Rajinikanth reflected on his life before entering cinema. He recalled spending five years as a bus conductor in Bengaluru and admitted that he continues to miss the profession.
The actor said visiting Bengaluru and seeing buses still brings back memories of that period. Despite his extraordinary career in cinema, he shared that he has never personally viewed himself as a major superstar and continues to feel connected to his earlier identity.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, Jailer 2 features Rajinikanth alongside SJ Suryah, Vidya Balan, Mithun Chakraborty, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Ramya Krishnan, Yogi Babu and Mirnaa. Nora Fatehi will make her Tamil cinema debut with the special song Bindaas.
Produced by Kalanithi Maran under Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 is scheduled to release worldwide on October 15.
