Ajay Devgn has commenced filming for his upcoming war drama Chauhaan in Kargil, Ladakh. The actor reportedly arrived in the region a few days ago and has begun working on key sequences for the film.
The production team obtained the necessary permissions before arriving in Kargil and made arrangements for the outdoor schedule. Several important portions of the film are expected to be shot across the mountainous region.
The cold weather and natural terrain of Kargil are expected to contribute to the film’s setting and visual treatment. Details about the scenes currently being filmed have not been disclosed.
The schedule marks Ajay’s return to Ladakh 23 years after he filmed portions of J P Dutta’s LOC: Kargil in the region. Released in 2003, the war film featured him as Captain Manoj Kumar Pandey.
Directed by Neeraj Yadav, Chauhaan marks Ajay’s first collaboration with filmmaker Aanand L Rai. The film is produced by Jyoti Deshpande, Aanand L Rai and Himanshu Sharma under Jio Studios and Colour Yellow Productions.
The project was announced on June 25, 2026, on the birth anniversary of Ajay’s father, veteran action director Veeru Devgan. Its announcement video introduced the film’s action-driven tone while keeping the storyline under wraps.
Chauhaan is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on October 1, 2027.
