The competition at St. Teresa’s has taken a darker turn. JioHotstar has released the trailer for Student of the Year: After Dark, with Shanaya Kapoor playing twin sisters in a campus murder mystery. Directed by Reema Maya, the series premieres on November 13, 2026.
Shanaya makes her OTT debut in the Dharmatic Entertainment production. The story follows a young woman investigating her sister’s death, with the Student of the Year contest becoming part of her search for answers. Rivalries and secrets drive the mystery rather than the race for the title alone.

Speaking about the role, Shanaya said portraying sisters with contrasting personalities and choices was both demanding and rewarding. She was also drawn to the opportunity to take a familiar franchise into unfamiliar territory, where relationships and appearances cannot be taken at face value.
For Maya, the series examines ambition and the damage caused when winning becomes an obsession. The director described its young characters as flawed and open to suspicion, with the investigation unfolding through the competition itself.
The cast also includes Abhinav Singh, Divik Sharma, Manya Grover, Deeya Damani, Adi Malik, Sheeba Chaddha and Vivek Gomber. Student of the Year: After Dark will stream exclusively on JioHotstar.
