Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor has been topping the headlines ever since his last release, Kabir Singh, boomed at the box office and helped the actor reclaim his superstar status. While the 39-year-old actor recently wrapped his shoot in Chandigarh for his next, Jersey, he came under the news radar for causing a gym seal.

Shahid Kapoor recently landed in Mumbai after the makers decided to suspend the shooting for Jersey in wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. The actor also took to his Twitter handle to urge his fans to stay safe and follow the outbreak prevention protocol advised by the government. However, despite promoting positive measure to avoid the viral infection, Shahid Kapoor visited a gym in Bandra along with his wife, Mira Rajput.

Soon after the celebrity couple entered the gym, they sensed the presence of paparazzi outside and they went home from different exits of the gym. However, it didn’t help the couple to hide the fact that they were allotted a VIP section to workout despite the state government had ordered the gyms and fitness centres to remain shut amid the viral outbreak.

As per the latest source, the gym which was visited by Shahid Kapoor and Mira Rajput has been sealed by BMC. The assistant municipal commissioner said that it was wrong on the part of the gym owner to keep the centre open for celebrities while the gym was completely closed for the public since Friday. The official further warned that if the gymnasiums do not follow the protocols directed by the state, their licenses will be revoked. Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor and the gym owner were sent a letter criticising them for putting public safety at risk.

The gym owner, Yudhishthir, said that the Kabir Singh actor didn’t visit his gym for a workout but wanted some equipment to recover from the injuries he sustained months ago. The owner further added that he knew Shahid Kapoor personally and they were hanging out as friends and there were no special services provided to him.
