Ramayana Part 2 will arrive in cinemas during Diwali 2028, a year later than originally planned. The new release window appears on a title card at the end of Ramayana: Rise of a Legend, which opened in theatres on November 5.
The two films were initially announced for consecutive Diwali releases, with the first instalment due in 2026 and the sequel in 2027. Part 1 has kept its festive release window, but the credits now tell audiences to expect the second chapter in 2028.
Producer Namit Malhotra had already confirmed the move to 2028 ahead of the first film’s release, explaining that the team wanted more time to complete the sequel. The title card narrows that timing to Diwali without naming an exact date.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the first instalment stars Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Ravie Dubey and Sunny Deol are also part of the cast.
