Konchadiyaan.
Directed by Soundarya, the superstars’s daughter, ‘Kochadaiyaan’ was first of its kind 3D animated movie to be made in Tamil and had giant expectations attached to it, but the movie failed to stand by it. The film received cold response due to primary problems associated with the animation and scripting, which was the USP of the movie along with Rajni being a part of it.
Linga
After the terrible failure of his movie Kochadaiiyaan, fans thought the hotshot Rajinikanth will make a surprising rebound with ‘Lingaa’. It is relatively inedible, yet the Rajinikanth-Sonakshi Sinha featuring movie bombed again in the first week of its release. The movie stretched with a story line that fumbled with a protracted peak.
Rajni’s movies are known for its engaging factor, even with the repeated undefeated and super stardom formulas thrown in to please his mass fan following. However, despite it all being used in the movie, it failed to impress his fans and entertain the mass audience.
Aatank Hi Aatank
The crime based drama ‘Aatank Hi Aatank’ which also featured Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla was another movie Thalaiva might regret of doing. The movie which was speculated to be highly inspired by best seller Maria Puzo’s ‘Godfather’ failed to keep the audience glued to the screen.
The story line of the movie followed the hardships of a poor man surviving the brutal life at the footpath of Bombay and his life taking a U-turn when a gangster asks him to work for him. Directed by Dilip Shankar, the movie failed badly to create an impact inspite of the fact that the film had Rajnikanth in it.
Insaaniyat ka Devta
The multi starrer movie which was released in the year 1993 failed awkwardly at the box-office, making it one of the worst movies of the superstar’s career. With scenes and songs arranged haphazardly and poor direction, made this movie perform badly at the box office. The movie also had Jaya Prada, Manisha Koirala, Raaj Kumar, Shakti Kumar in the lead cast.
Tyagi
Helmed by ‘Laal Badshaah’ famed director K. C. Bokadia, ‘Tyagi’ was a family drama movie portraying the story of a brother who sacrificed all his belongings for his siblings well being. The movie failed unexpectedly at the box office. The film was the remake of a Tamil film ‘Dharma Durai’ and Rajnikanth in the lead.
