Emraan Hashmi is back as Shivam in the newly released trailer for Awarapan 2. Scheduled to arrive in theatres on August 14, 2026, the romantic action film continues the story that began with Awarapan in 2007.
Running for one minute and 25 seconds, the trailer places Shivam’s emotional turmoil at the centre of the action. The character appears to be battling the darkness within him as painful memories and unresolved emotions push him towards violence.
The footage presents Shivam in a fierce and relentless avatar, taking on his enemies through a series of intense confrontations. The action is accompanied by the sombre mood and emotional weight associated with the original film, suggesting that the sequel will retain its predecessor’s blend of romance, crime and personal tragedy.
Although the trailer reveals little about the complete storyline, it indicates that Shivam will once again find himself caught in a dangerous conflict. His past continues to influence his decisions, while his anger drives much of the mayhem shown in the promotional footage.
Disha Patani joins Emraan Hashmi in the sequel. The cast also includes Shabana Azmi, Suvinder Vicky, Vijayant Kohli, Atul Kumar, Aniruddh Rawal and Puran Gabbi in important roles.
Watch The Trailer:
The original Awarapan, directed by Mohit Suri, featured Emraan Hashmi alongside Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma and Ashutosh Rana. It followed Shivam, a loyal outlaw working for a powerful crime boss in Hong Kong while remaining haunted by his past.
Shivam’s life changed when he was ordered to watch over Reema, a young woman who wanted to escape her circumstances. Her struggle prompted him to turn against his employer and risk his life to help her gain freedom.
The sequel brings Shivam back nearly two decades later, with the trailer suggesting that his emotional scars have not healed. With its focus on his pain, anger and renewed descent into violence, Awarapan 2 appears set to continue the character’s tragic journey when it reaches cinemas on August 14.
