Priyanka Chopra Jonas joins Russell Crowe in sci-fi thriller Bluefly

Priyanka Chopra Jonas has added another international project to her filmography. The actor will share the screen with Academy Award winner Russell Crowe in the upcoming science-fiction action thriller Bluefly.

Set in the Congo, Bluefly follows a grieving United Nations translator who becomes involved in a covert operation to locate a mysterious aircraft that officially does not exist. As the group moves deeper into the mission, the journey becomes increasingly dangerous. They eventually discover that the truth surrounding the aircraft is far more complicated and that it was never meant to be recovered.

Director Nimród Antal described the project as a character-focused thriller built around a science-fiction premise. The filmmaker said the story will remain grounded while delivering tension, momentum and a growing sense of dread.

The film is the latest addition to Priyanka’s expanding international lineup. She was recently confirmed to star opposite Orlando Bloom in the survival thriller Reset.

Priyanka also headlined The Bluff, which debuted at the top of Prime Video’s global chart. Her performance as Ercell Bodden earned her a Best Actress in an Action Movie nomination at the 2026 Critics Choice Super Awards.

She was also seen alongside Idris Elba and John Cena in the action comedy Heads of State. The film became Prime Video’s fourth most-watched movie and later received a nomination for Outstanding Television Movie at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards.

Russell Crowe, who won an Academy Award for Gladiator, also has several projects in development. His upcoming films include Unabomber, The Weight, Billion Dollar Spy and Amazon MGM’s Highlander.

With filming expected to begin later this year, Bluefly will mark the first on-screen collaboration between Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Russell Crowe.
