Playback singer Kumar Sanu is not against the latest trend of remixing old songs. Sanu says he enjoys a remixed number more if the original voice is contained. He revealed with nostalgia about his association with music composers Nadeem-Shravan.

Kumar Sanu thinks there are certain songs that the new generation is not aware of and the fact that who had composed the music or who had sung them. He believes that through remixes, they get to learn about it which is a bonus point. He also thinks that remix should not be looked down on if the lyrics and composition are kept intact and only the arrangement is varied. He believes that if a superhit song is remixed and its version becomes popular, it becomes a plus point for the music directors and producers of today’s time.

When questioned if he personally admires the idea of remixes, the singer answered that he like remixes if features its original singer. Back in the nineties, Sanu became popular particularly singing romantic numbers that topped the charts. One of his biggest hits were songs he recorded for Nadeem-Shravan, starting “Aashiqui” in 1990. Fans lost Shravan Kumar Rathod of the Nadeem-Shravan duo last month. On this note, Sanu reminisces on how he had some special memories with them.

He says that the Music composer duos are unique and Shravan’s demise is a great loss to the music industry. He recalls and says that Shravan Ji was soft-spoken and a very cheerful person, and loved Sanu immensely. They used to call him Tiger. He says that he also has a separate memory associated with each song he sang for the composers and the shows they had together. He remembers the tasty food he was treated to at their place and also the tips they shared to help him during song recording. He tells that the duo would always try to make a song a little tougher with a classical hint to it, as on the other hand, Sanu would try to make it easier. He recalls the celebrations that followed after the recordings.

The singer says that each song he has had the privilege to sing for the duo is special to him. He praises how their music always had a melody and a good set of lyrics.

Talking about the Covid-19 pandemic, Sanu informs that he has completed his second dose of the vaccine and it has been 12 days that he hasn’t experienced side effects.
