The 2014 action thriller movie, Ek Villain, featuring Sidharth Malhotra, Shraddha Kapoor and Riteish Deshmukh in the key roles, turned out to be a sleeper hit and set many benchmarks for its genre. The movie still memorable for its iconic chartbuster music also witnessed the never-before-seen avatar of Riteish Deshmukh as a serial killer. Now a report published in Bollywood Hungama claims that Riteish is likely to make a powerful cameo in the upcoming sequel to the movie.
The sequel to the 2014 release, Ek Villain Returns is scheduled for release this Friday and the fans are eagerly waiting for the new story lineup with new characters. However, the makers might have a huge surprise for the fans as the rumour mills suggest a short cameo by Riteish Deshmukh reprising his character of Sameer Mahadkar. According to an exclusive source of Bollywood Hungama, Riteish will be reprising his character from the original thriller and play a key role in the plot of the sequel.
While the new star cast will take the intensity to next level with a new storyline, the makers have officially mentioned a link to the first part. The trailer of Ek Villain Returns starts with J D Chakravarthy speaking about Sameer Mahadkar dropping a hint that he might be associated with the happenings in the sequel.
Helmed by Mohit Suri, Ek Villain Returns stars John Abraham, Arjun Kapoor, Disha Patani and Tara Sutaria in lead roles.
