The chaotic and hilarious world of Bhagam Bhag is making a comeback! Nearly two decades after its release, the much-loved Priyadarshan-directed comedy is set to get a sequel, Bhagam Bhag 2, and fans couldn’t be more thrilled.

The original film, starring Akshay Kumar, Govinda, and Paresh Rawal, has achieved cult status over the years, thanks to its timeless humour and a dedicated fanbase amplified by social media. For Akshay Kumar, the film remains a standout in his career alongside classics like Hera Pheri and Welcome.

The sequel’s rights have been acquired by Sarita Ashwin Varde of Roaring River Productions, in collaboration with Shemaroo Entertainment. Sarita, who has been developing the script, will co-produce the film with Shemaroo. Addressing the long gap between the original and the sequel, Sarita explained, “A special film like Bhagam Bhag deserves a sequel that’s equally special. When the time felt right, we decided to take the plunge.”

Sarita brings extensive experience to the project, having been the creative force behind her husband Ashwin Varde’s production ventures, including hits like Boss, Kabir Singh, OMG-2, and Mubarakan.

Hiren Gada, CEO of Shemaroo Entertainment, shared his excitement, saying, “We’re thrilled to partner with such an incredible team to create a sequel that will carry forward the legacy of the original. Fans can expect even more laughter, chaos, and entertainment.”

While specific details about the cast and story remain under wraps, the makers have promised that Bhagam Bhag 2 will be “madder, crazier, and funnier.” Production is set to begin in mid-2025, with more updates to follow as the official announcement draws closer.
