Prabhas’ Spirit postponed to Diwali 2027, new release date set for October 29

The wait for Prabhas’ Spirit will be longer than planned. The action thriller, written and directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has moved from March 5, 2027, to October 29, 2027, placing its worldwide theatrical release in the Diwali window.

The revised date replaces a schedule that Vanga had reaffirmed as recently as August 2026, when he also spoke about the film’s production. The latest announcement shifts its arrival by several months.

Prabhas leads the cast alongside Triptii Dimri, Vivek Oberoi and Aishwarya Desai. He plays an IPS officer, while Oberoi takes on an antagonist’s role. The film is backed by T-Series and Bhadrakali Pictures, with Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga producing.

The Diwali slot also raises the possibility of a box-office clash with Ramayana Part 2. The second instalment of Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra’s mythological epic stars Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi. Any direct overlap, however, will depend on the final release plans for both films.

Spirit was introduced on Prabhas’ birthday, October 23, 2025, through a sound-story teaser titled “One Bad Habit”. It offered an early introduction to the intense police officer at the centre of the story.

A first-look poster followed on January 1, 2026, showing Prabhas with long hair and visible injuries. With the new release date now announced, audiences will have to wait until October 29, 2027, to see his collaboration with Vanga in cinemas.
