Dilip Joshi, beloved for his role as Jethalal in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC), has addressed the swirling rumours of a fallout with the show’s producer, Asit Modi. Denying reports of a heated altercation—where he allegedly grabbed Modi by the collar—Joshi called the claims “baseless” and “hurtful.”

In a heartfelt statement, Joshi expressed his disappointment over the false narratives, saying, “There have been stories circulating about me and Asit Bhai that are completely untrue. It saddens me to see such rumours being spread. Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah holds a special place in my heart, and it’s disheartening when baseless claims tarnish something that brings joy to millions.”

He highlighted how such rumours negatively impact not only the show’s cast and crew but also its devoted fans. “This show has been a source of happiness for so many years. When false stories emerge, it affects everyone involved, including our loyal viewers. It’s exhausting to constantly debunk these untrue allegations,” Joshi added.

Addressing another rumour about his supposed exit from the series, Joshi reassured fans of his continued commitment to TMKOC. “There were even rumours of me leaving the show, which are completely false. We all stand united to make this show the best it can be. Let’s focus on the positivity and joy it brings to so many lives.”

This isn’t the first time Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has been embroiled in controversy. Several former cast members, including Shailesh Lodha, Jennifer Mistry, and Palak Sindhwani, have accused Modi and the co-producers of harassment, abuse, and non-payment of dues. Jennifer Mistry has even levelled allegations of sexual harassment against Modi. Despite these controversies, Joshi dismissed the latest rumours about his relationship with Modi as entirely unfounded.

With Joshi’s reassurances, fans can look forward to more laughter and positivity from one of India’s most cherished sitcoms.
