The trailer of Academy award winner director Danny Boyle’s ‘Yesterday’ dropped in on Friday and it takes us to a world where the Fab Four band ‘The Beatles’ do not exist, but their blockbuster songs do.
Starring Himesh Patel in the lead as Jack Malik along side Kate McKinnon, Lily James, Ed Sheeran and James Corden, the movie is out to be a musical and nostalgic feel good journey.
Written by Love Actually fame writer Richard Curtis, the trailer suggests that its a tribute to the 1960s popular and till date most loved iconic English musical band ‘The Beatles’.
The story chronicles around the life of Jack, an aspiring musician who has almost given up on his musical career, but after a sudden city black out and a horrifying accident, Jack finds himself waking up to a world where no one is aware of the majestic music of The Beatles.
Even though Jack finds it all very freakish, he uses the opportunity to plagiarize their songs one after the other and becomes one of the most loved singer and song writer all around the globe, but of course not everything can sail on smooth for long.
Set to release on June 28, this romantic comedy by Boyle is sure going to be one hell of a musical ride.
