Released on Indian Independence Day, Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 has been making waves over social media as the horror comedy lives up to the hype. The sequel to the 2018 movie continued the story and introduced new characters with many exciting and unexpected cameos. With positive word of mouth and reception by the critics, the movie has managed to mint almost 40 crores on the first Monday, making it the most profitable Hindi film of 2024.
Stree 2 crossed the 60 crores mark on the opening day, including paid previews, and the box office pundits had anticipated high projections over the extended weekend. In the first five days, the movie collected a total of 242.40 crores net at the Indian box office with an expected budget of just 60 crores. Calculated for the profit, the movie seems to be enjoying heavy returns of over 300%.
With the ROI crossing that of Munjya, the movie has established itself as the highest profitable film of the year surpassing the title previously owned by Munjya. With the positive word of mouth and social media hype, the movie is expected to continue doing good business at the Indian box office and cross 400 crores in the coming days.
