The year-long nationwide lockdown has pushed many filmmakers to postpone the release of their movies and resulted in many clashes. However, the lockdown to curb the spread of Coronavirus had also averted the giant clash between Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar when their respective movies, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai and Laxmii, were to release on the same day. While the movies avoided the clash, the two superstars will be competing again as their movies prepare for digital releases on the same day.
Akshay Kumar, Dhanush and Sara Ali Khan starrer Atrangi Re has been one of the most anticipated movies and the makers will be releasing it over the OTT giant Disney+ Hotstar on December 24. On the other hand, Salman Khan’s recent outing with Aayush Sharma and Mahima Makwana, Antim: The Final Truth, is gearing up for a digital release on ZEE5 on Christmas Eve going head-on with the Akshay Kumar starrer.
While both the movies will be released digitally on the same day, the clash is less likely to affect the performance of Atrangi Re as Antim: The Final Truth has already had its theatrical release last month with no significant competition at the box office. Additionally, a digital clash is less impactful to the collection of the movies as compared to the box office clash.
On the other hand, some reports suggest that John Abraham starrer Satyameva Jayate 2 will also premiere on an OTT platform on Christmas Eve resulting in another clash between Akshay Kumar and John Abraham.
