Actress Nikita Dutta is all set for the release of her film, The Big Bull on OTT. Based in the eighties and the nineties, the film gave her the opportunity to rewind the time and build her character accordingly. Dutta is playing the role of wife to Hemant Shah (Abhishek Bachchan) in the film, and for that Nikita drew styling inspiration from her mother.

She experiments quite a lot in terms of how her mother dresses and talks. It’s been quite a different experience, for her, but everything has worked upon. Why she took references from her mother was because she has lived through that era. and this was one of the most exciting things because she was able to do something she hasn’t done earlier and be someone, she hasn’t been earlier.

The actress reveals how she loved researching for a character and reading about the gone by the era in which the character is based in. Learning and seeing what happened back then seems interesting to her.

On her work front, Nikita famed herself playing filmstar Jiah Sharma in Shahid Kapoor starrer romantic drama, Kabir Singh, and she previously had an opportunity to define a character based in the past in the Akshay Kumar’s Gold. Talking about Gold, she said that her experience was the kind she really enjoyed.

She tells how she has always been fond of history and so studying the past for the characters was an interesting subject for her. Although she recalls that Gold was difficult because she didn’t have many references to dwell upon with the film being set in the 1930s. Comparatively, The Big Bull takes her back to a slightly elder generation who tell her and help her in drawing inspiration.
