The subtle filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj is going to be the showrunner of Netflix upcoming series ‘Midnight’s Children’ based on the1981 novel of Salman Rushdie.

Netflix which has become a major online streaming platform across the map disclosed the name of Vishal Bhardwaj as the showrunner for Rushdie’s Booker-Prize winning novel adaptation ‘Midnight’s Children, who will also be the executive producer of the show.

 

The globally acclaimed novel Midnight’s Children sketches the personal narratives of Saleem Sanai who took his first breath at the midnight of 15th August 1947, the very day India received the status of an independent nation. Saleem was one among the other 1000 children who were delivered at that sensitive hour of the night. Sinai was born with exceptional skill and telepathic powers that connected him to the other thousand born on the same night influenced his life.

 

The ace filmmaker and music composer Vishal Bhardwaj who is well-known for breathing life into his characters has produced some critically acclaimed adaptations based on Shakespeare masterpieces with his movies like Maqbool(Macbeth), Omkara(Othello), Haider(Hamlet).

The maker who is celebrated for his creative mind and vision is all set to turn this epic work of literature into an unforgettable visual experience with Netflix originals.

The book which was published in the year 1981 received many prestigious awards was also adapted into a  movie and stage drama. It would be a creative privilege for the audience to experience this epic story through the vision of a fine filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj.
