Former Miss Universe and actress Lara Dutta Bhupathi is all sewed up to have a great kickoff to the year with her upcoming international TV series ‘Beecham House’.

The actress who made the whole nation proud when she won the title of Miss Universe back in 2000 is going to mark her debut in television series after a long sabbatical from main stream cinema.

Helmed by Gurinder Chadha, a renowned film and documentary maker, Beecham House is going to be a period drama set in the early 19th century in Delhi, sketching the splendid and triumphant history of Begum Samru, a strong, fiery and revolutionary woman.

Lara who will be seen weaving the glorious journey of Begum Samru on screen, shared her first look from the series on her social media handle and it is indeed a sight for sore eyes.

The series will deal with the historical events that made 15 year Farzana, a courtroom dancer become Begum Samru, a woman history could never forget.

Lara made her Bollywood debut with Akshay Kumar starrer ‘Andaaz’ in 2003 along with Priyanka Chopra. She continued to impress the audience with her understated performances in movies like Partner, No Entry, Housefull, Don 2, Chalo Dilli etc.

The series is special to the actress as it is  going to be her first English acting stint. The series will release in the summer of this year.
