Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh are two of the most popular faces in the Bollywood film industry with similar names and similar interests. Well, we are not talking about their former love interests here but the movies that Ranbir Kapoor rejected and changed Ranveer Singh’s career. Below is a list of four big banner movies which proved to be a turning point for Ranveer Singh’s acting career but were earlier offered to Ranbir Kapoor.

1. Band Baaja Baaraat

Ranveer Singh made his dream debut under the Yash Raj Films banner with the blockbuster Band Baaja Baaraat. However, he wasn’t the first choice for the movie. The script was earlier proposed to Ranbir Kapoor who turned it down and later was given to the debutant Ranveer Singh.

2. Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela

Earlier, Ranbir Kapoor was finalised for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s directorial Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela and Ranveer Singh was roped in for Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet. However, director Anurag Kashyap replaced Ranveer with Ranbir and later Ranveer slipped into Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela. While the Bombay Velvet failed to perform at the box office, the other proved to be a turning point for Ranveer’s career.

3. Befikre

Just like Ranveer’s debut movie Band Baaja BaaraatBefikre was offered to Ranbir Kapoor as well but the actor turned down the Yash Raj Films’ project. Later Ranveer bagged the movie. Although it wasn’t a major hit, it gave a new avatar to Ranveer’s persona.

4. Gully Boy

The last and the latest movie in the list is Gully Boy which once again proved critically and commercially successful for Ranveer Singh but was offered to Ranbir Kapoor. However, Ranbir was offered the character of Siddhanth Chaturvedi and not that of Ranveer Singh. Ranbir turned down the offer to play second fiddle to Ranveer Singh and the rest is history.
