The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has caused the entertainment industry great distress. The industry is finally coming out of months-long standstill with some relaxations announced by the government in the Unlock phases and many projects have gone on the floors. While several films commenced and some even wrapped their shoot, a few were unlucky as the cast contracted Coronavirus despite strict precautionary measures in place.
Abhishek Kapoor directorial untitled film with Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor was on the verge of commencing its shooting when the lead actress was tested positive for COVID-19. The team of the movie was camping in Chandigarh waiting for the movie to go on the floors when Vaani Kapoor showed flu-like symptoms. Upon proceeding for the COVID-19 test, the shooting was stalled and the rest of the crew have been quarantined for the upcoming few days.
Ayushmann Khurrana and filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor have also got their tests done for COVID-19 and awaiting results. A source close to the development of the movie states that the team may continue the shoot with Ayushmann Khurrana’s solo scenes until Vaani Kapoor recovers from the illness and joins the production. Vaani has been reported with minor symptoms and the actress is undergoing the necessary treatment to get back in good health.
Talking about the movie, Abhishek Kapoor directorial is a quirky comedy of errors revolving around a couple and twists in their married life when the husband discovers that he is married to a transgender. Ayushmann Khurrana, who is known for challenging and out-of-the-box characters, is collaborating with Vaani Kapoor for the first time.
