Recently the trailer of Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi starrer thriller, Chehre, was released and it received a positive response from the audience. However, rumours have been doing rounds that the role of Rhea Chakraborty has been limited in the mystery thriller following the backlash against her in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged suicide.

Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty went through media trials and social media harassment after Sushant Singh Rajput’s family accused her of suicide abetment. The actress continues to receive severe backlash and reportedly lost many projects. Following the hatred against her, it was widely reported that the makers of Chehre have decided to limit her role in the movie to avoid becoming a target of the popular ‘boycott’ trend. However, the producer of the movie, Anand Pandit, took the time to clarify the air that no role has been trimmed in his movie.

Clarifying that Rhea’s role in the movie is the same as earlier planned, Anand Pandit said, “No, it’s exactly whatever she (Rhea Chakraborty has shot. It is exactly like that in the film.” The filmmaker mentioned that they are focussing on the main cast of the movie without throwing an axe at the supporting cast. “Chehre is a film of Mr Amitabh Bachchan & Emraan Hashmi. Anything related to them, we would have highlighted but otherwise, there is creative liberty. What to highlight and what not to highlight, we have Siddhant Kapoor, Dhrittiman Chaterjee, Raghubir Yadav and others also – why aren’t we talking about them?” he concluded.

Helmed by Rumi Jaffery, Chehre features Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in the lead alongside Rhea Chakraborty, Krystle D’Souza, Kriti Kharbanda and Siddhanth Kapoor playing prominent characters. The mystery thriller is slated for a release on April 9.
