In a significant announcement on Gandhi Jayanti, Applause Entertainment revealed that Grammy-winning musical genius A.R. Rahman will be composing the score for their much-anticipated series Gandhi. The legendary composer is set to bring his masterful touch to this epic tale of India’s Independence, promising to elevate the series to new artistic heights.

Sameer Nair, Managing Director of Applause Entertainment, expressed his excitement about the collaboration, stating, “Gandhi is more than just a series; it’s a global story about the triumph of the human spirit. With A.R. Rahman’s soul-stirring music, we’re creating something truly extraordinary—something that will resonate deeply with audiences worldwide.”

A.R. Rahman also shared his thoughts, saying, “Exploring Gandhiji’s younger life is eye-opening—his journey of self-discovery and his experiments with truth are remarkable. It’s an honour to score the music for this project, working with Applause Entertainment and under Hansal Mehta’s direction.”

Hansal Mehta, the series director, called Rahman’s involvement a dream come true, adding, “Gandhi is a profoundly human retelling of M.K. Gandhi’s life. A.R. Rahman’s music will capture the emotional and spiritual depth of Gandhi’s teachings, and there’s no one better suited to bring these nuances to life.”

Based on Ramachandra Guha’s authoritative writings, Gandhi will be a rich blend of history, emotion, and sound, with Rahman’s compositions playing a key role in bringing the essence of Gandhi’s message of truth, love, and non-violence to the screen.
