After delivering feel-good hits like Tanu Weds Manu and Shaadi Mein Zaroor Aana, producer Vinod Bachchan is back with another romantic comedy — this time, it’s the much-anticipated sequel to Ginny Weds Sunny. Titled Ginny Weds Sunny 2, the film introduces a new on-screen duo: Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr.
The fresh pairing officially kick-started the shoot in the scenic landscapes of Uttarakhand, with both actors sharing behind-the-scenes photos featuring the clapboard on Instagram. Their posts mark the beginning of a brand-new chapter in the Ginny Weds Sunny universe.
The original film, which starred Yami Gautam and Vikrant Massey, debuted on Netflix in 2020 and quickly became one of the platform’s most-watched romantic comedies. Now, the sequel aims to recapture that charm with a completely new storyline, packed with romance, family chaos, quirky humour, and heartfelt moments.
Speaking about the project, producer Vinod Bachchan shared, “The overwhelming love the first film received inspired us to return with a new story, new characters, and a fresh twist. With Avinash and Medha, we’ve found a vibrant pairing that brings new energy to the franchise. We’re excited to offer audiences more laughter, love, and feel-good vibes.”
Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is written and directed by Prashant Jha and is being produced under Soundrya Production. With shooting underway and anticipation building, the film promises to deliver another dose of fun for all ages.
