The entire world is suffering from Coronavirus outbreak and recently the World Health Organization declared the viral disease a global pandemic. While more than 112 countries are affected by the deadly disease, WHO encourages to avoid public gatherings to avoid the spread of the virus which affected many upcoming events. In the wake of the current situation, the latest report suggests that Sooryavanshi will be postponed.
The upcoming instalment to the Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, Sooryavanshi, which stars Akshay Kumar in the titular character is slated to release on the 24th of March. However, as per insider news, the makers of the movie are currently in talks to postpone the actioner considering the spread of Coronavirus in India and abroad. While there has been no official confirmation yet, the source adds that the announcement is most likely to be made by the coming weekend.
While the release of a big banner movie with an ensemble star cast of Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, and Ajay Devgn will attract high footfalls at the movie theatres, it can aid in the spread of the viral disease. Additionally, with the virus propagating at an enormous degree, people are avoiding going to public places as per health advisories issued in the public interest which can affect the box office performance of the movie.
Keeping both the conditions in consideration, Akshay Kumar, Rohit Shetty, Shibashish Sarkar of Reliance Entertainment and filmmaker Karan Johar have been holding meetings to discuss the new release date for the movie which is expected in the next month.
Talking about the movie, Sooryavanshi is an addition to the cop universe of Rohit Shetty and has Ranveer Singh along with Ajay Devgn reprising their popular cop characters of Simmba and Singham, respectively. Helmed by Rohit Shetty, the movie stars Akshay Kumar in the titular character with Katrina Kaif playing his love interest.
