Sky Force, starring Akshay Kumar and debutant Veer Pahariya, has exceeded expectations with an impressive opening-day collection at the Indian box office. Despite the limited pre-release buzz, the action drama managed to rake in ₹15.30 crore net on its first day, largely thanks to strategic ticket pricing and favourable word-of-mouth.

The film’s strong start can be attributed to several factors. Maddock Films’ solid reputation helped build trust among audiences, while heavily discounted ticket prices at major cinema chains like PVR INOX and Cinepolis boosted footfall, particularly during evening and night shows. Positive audience feedback further contributed to a surge in over-the-counter ticket sales.

This remarkable performance marks a significant milestone for Akshay Kumar, as Sky Force now ranks among his top 10 openers at the box office. It has surpassed films like Ram Setu (₹15.25 crore) and Bachchhan Paandey (₹13.25 crore) to claim the 10th spot on his all-time opening-day list.

The list of Akshay’s biggest openers is led by the 2019 release Mission Mangal, which earned ₹29.16 crore on Independence Day despite facing competition from Batla House. Other notable entries include Sooryavanshi (₹26.29 crore) and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (₹16.07 crore), showcasing Akshay’s ability to draw audiences to theatres even post-pandemic.

With momentum on its side, Sky Force is poised to maintain its strong performance in the coming days, marking a promising chapter in Akshay Kumar’s box office journey.
