Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani will be a fresh pair in the second instalment of the blockbuster horror-comedy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, which starred Akshay Kumar in the key role. While the legacy is to be taken forward with the next generations of superstars, the shooting for the standalone sequel was interrupted in the middle due to the pandemic and imposed lockdown to curb the same.
Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani have done shooting a major portion of the movie and a month-long shooting has been left before the movie gets into its post-production phase. As restrictions in the nationwide lockdown have been eased, the makers of the movie are planning to resume the shooting in the month of September. Filmmaker Anees Bazmee said that they would have to return to Lucknow to complete the shooting which was halted in mid-March. The director also revealed that a huge set had erupted in the city which is untouched for months due to the Coronavirus.
With a month-long shooting remained for the movie before it is called a wrap, the team is planning to shoot indoor sequences in Mumbai until they get permission for shooting in Lucknow from the Uttar Pradesh government to maintain the continuity. Producer of the project, Bhushan Kumar also assured that they would not plan out the shooting until the safety of the crew is assured.
Starring Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani in the prominent characters, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is being helmed by Anees Bazmee who directed the first instalment of the franchise as well. While there were earlier reports of a cameo from Akshay Kumar, the actor refuted such rumours and now the franchise entirely belongs to Kartik Aaryan.
