Bala is an upcoming Amar Kaushik directorial starring Ayushmann Khurran and Bhumi Pedneker in the lead roles. Bankrolled by Dinesh Vijan, the movie is currently in the second schedule of its shooting but the development may halt since the assistant director, Kamal Kant Chandra, has filed a police complaint under cheating and breach of trust against the makers of Bala.

Kamal Kant Chandra claims that the makers of Bala have plagiarised his idea of a balding man from one of his projects. He had earlier filed a case against the lead actor, director, and producer of the movie in the Bombay High Court.

He said that it was unethical to continue shooting when the court verdict was awaited. He also accused the makers of providing misleading information to the court. Kamal Kant Chandra further added, “I approached the vacation bench four days ago, but they stated that I should wait for the next hearing on June 10. But the makers might finish [a chunk of] the film by then and argue that since a lot of money is at stake, the court should rule in their favour.”
