Awarapan to clash with Spider-Man: Brand New Day during theatrical re-release

Emraan Hashmi’s Awarapan is reportedly set to return to theatres on July 31, nearly two decades after its original release. The reported re-release comes just weeks before Awarapan 2 arrives in cinemas, giving audiences an opportunity to revisit the first chapter on the big screen.

According to reports, the decision to bring Awarapan back to theatres was taken in view of the growing anticipation surrounding the sequel. The original film continues to enjoy a loyal fan following and is remembered for its emotional narrative, memorable performances, and chart-topping music.

If the reported plans go ahead, the re-release will coincide with the arrival of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, setting up an interesting box office clash between the cult Bollywood drama and the much-awaited Marvel superhero film.

Released in 2007, Awarapan starred Emraan Hashmi in the lead role and went on to earn cult status over the years. Its soundtrack, along with the film’s emotional storyline, has remained popular among audiences long after its theatrical run.

The re-release is expected to serve as a lead-up to Awarapan 2, which is scheduled to hit theatres in August. Revisiting the original film could help introduce the story to a new generation of viewers while allowing longtime fans to relive the experience on the big screen.

An official announcement regarding the re-release is still awaited. However, the reported move has already generated excitement among fans, who are looking forward to watching Awarapan in cinemas once again before the sequel arrives.
