Excitement is building as Aamir Khan and Suriya express interest in the much-anticipated Ghajini 2, though both actors are keen to avoid the label of a “remake.” According to recent reports, Aamir has been in talks with producers Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena about a sequel to the 2008 blockbuster Ghajini. While intrigued by the concept presented, Aamir has requested a more developed storyboard before officially committing.

In a surprising twist, Allu Aravind plans to produce Ghajini 2 not just in Hindi but also in Tamil, with Suriya reprising his role as the lead in the Tamil version. Speaking to Pinkvilla, Suriya confirmed his involvement, sharing his excitement about the project. “It’s funny you ask about Ghajini 2 now because after all this time, Allu Aravind approached me with a sequel idea, and I was thrilled to discuss it. Yes, talks have begun, and things are moving forward. It just might happen,” the actor said.

A source close to the project further added that both the actors are excited by the idea of Ghajini 2 but do not want their respective movies to be branded as remakes. Remakes of cult classic movies are no longer in trend and they fear that the movie releasing later will lose the impact. After hearing their concerns, the producer allegedly came up with the solution to film the two movies simultaneously and release them on the same day.

Rumours about Aamir contemplating a sequel to Ghajini have been circulating for a while, and this new development has reignited fans’ hopes. The original Ghajini was India’s first film to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark at the box office, and Aamir believes there’s potential for the story to evolve into a franchise. “Aamir has been discussing the possibility of Ghajini 2 with Allu Aravind and Madhu Mantena, but he’s waiting for a strong script to take the project to the next level,” the source shared.

As fans await further updates, the prospect of both Aamir Khan and Suriya taking on the iconic role in their respective versions has everyone buzzing.
