Vijay Varma has confirmed that Matka King will return for a second season. The actor announced the new chapter on social media by sharing a glimpse of the opening episode’s script.
The confirmation comes after Vijay posted a cryptic update about embarking on a new journey, prompting fans to speculate about his next project. He later revealed that the post was connected to the second season of the Prime Video series.
Vijay first shared a selfie from the production office while posing in front of a Matka King poster. He followed it with a photograph of the script for the season’s first episode, titled “Season 2 x Episode 1: Ek Aur Baazi.”
The episode has been created and written by Abhay Koranne. Sharing the photograph, Vijay wrote, “Ek aur baazi ;)” while the show’s title music played in the background.
The actor will reprise his role as Brij Bhatti, the central character from the first season. Set against the backdrop of 1950s Bombay, the opening chapter followed Brij’s rise within the world of matka gambling. Vijay also underwent a physical transformation and adopted a period-specific appearance for the role.
Details about the second season’s storyline and returning cast members have not yet been disclosed. However, the title “Ek Aur Baazi” indicates another high-stakes chapter within the world established during the first season.
With the opening episode’s script now revealed, work on Matka King season 2 is underway. The makers have not announced its filming schedule or streaming date.
