Alia Bhatt has been in headlines lately for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s project Inshallah starring Salman Khan in the male lead, which got shelved. While the director is reportedly searching for a replacement of the ‘Dabangg Khan’, rumours have it that Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are to continue their collaboration with another project.

According to a report, Alia Bhatt has been roped in for the biopic of Gangubai Kothewali which will be an adaptation of a chapter from S Hussain Zaidi’s book, Mafia Queens of Mumbai. According to a source close to the development of the movie, Alia Bhatt was approached for the biopic since she had already given her dates for Inshallah and the director found her suitable for the character.

If reports have to be believed, the movie is expected to go on the floors in the month of October as the makers are waiting for the Shraddh period to get over. However, the makers haven’t zeroed down to a release date yet and we will have to wait for an official confirmation for that.
