Varun Dhawan in talks for Operation Sindoor with Vivek Agnihotri, Bhushan Kumar: Reports

After playing a key role in the war drama space with Border 2, Varun Dhawan is being flooded with offers in the same genre. However, the actor is treading carefully and appears selective about his next move. Among several projects coming his way, one that has caught attention is Operation Sindoor, backed by Bhushan Kumar and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri.

According to sources, Varun Dhawan has been approached for the lead role in the film and has shown early interest in the subject. The actor is expected to hear a detailed narration soon, after which he will take a final call on whether to come on board. The project is shaping up to be a significant addition to the growing slate of war and nationalist dramas in Indian cinema.

This development comes at a time when Varun is returning to work mode after taking a brief break to spend time with his daughter, Lara. With renewed focus, he is actively meeting filmmakers and exploring scripts across production houses, including Dharma Productions, Maddock, Sajid Nadiadwala, and Tips.

He is currently gearing up for the release of Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai on May 22 and is aiming to begin shooting for his next project by July. Insiders suggest that the actor is keen to lock his next film soon, with multiple conversations underway.

Varun’s discussions with Bhushan Kumar are not limited to a single project. The two are reportedly exploring a potential multi-film collaboration, with Operation Sindoor being one of the key projects in consideration.

If the deal materialises, it could mark another major step in Varun Dhawan’s evolving filmography, especially as he continues to explore more intense and performance-driven roles in the war genre.
