Tom Holland, widely known as Spider-Man, has announced his plan to take a one-year break from acting. The 27-year-old actor recently served as a producer and starred in the psychological thriller The Crowded Room, an intense project that has prompted him to step away from the spotlight.
During an interview with US TV show Extra, Holland shared his experience, saying, “I love the learning curve of becoming a producer. I’ve always believed in the value of hard work. However, this show pushed me to my limits. There came a point where I realized I needed a break. I disappeared for a week in Mexico, spent time on the beach, and now I’m taking a year off due to the challenges I faced during this production.”
Holland, who began his career as a child actor in the acclaimed musical Billy Elliot: The Musical, emphasized that his time away from the film industry has been focused on family, leisure activities, and self-care.
Reflecting on his break, Holland stated, “I’ve done some travelling and had an amazing time. I’ve been reconnecting with my family and friends. Golf has become a pastime of mine. I’ve also taken up gardening, buying plants and doing my best to nurture them. I’ve simply been trying to embrace a regular life and relax as a Kingston bloke. While a new ‘Spider-Man’ film may not be on the horizon anytime soon, there’s certainly a possibility in the future!”
As fans eagerly await Holland’s return to the big screen, the actor’s decision to prioritize his well-being and personal life serves as a reminder of the importance of taking breaks and pursuing hobbies outside of work.
