Shahid Kapoor recently made a huge comeback in the Bollywood industry with the success of his romantic drama Kabir Singh which turned out to be the highest-grossing movie of his career. While everyone is still not over with his angry avatar, there were recently rumours that he might star in the Hindi remake of Dear Comrade.

A while ago, Karan Johar announced that he has bought the remake rights of Vijay Deverakonda starrer Dear Comrade and searching for the lead. Ever since the news broke the internet, there were rumours that Shahid Kapoor has been approached to play the lead as his last success Kabir Singh was also a Hindi remake of Vijay Deverakonda starrer Arjun Reddy.

Dear Comrade Shahid Kapoor

However, latest reports published by the Mumbai Mirror suggest that Shahid Kapoor has turned down the offer as he was not interested in the remake. Even after a huge buzz, Dear Comrade failed to mint success at the box office as per expectations.

While Shahid Kapoor is out of the picture, there are also rumours that Karan Johar might cast the Dhadak duo for the Hindi remake. However, nothing is official as of now but we can speculate a strong cast for Karan Johar’s project.
