An HD version of the movie was leaked online on torrent websites through the popular chatting mobile application and the makers decided to release it suddenly to combat piracy.
The highly-anticipated movie of Kriti Sanon was reportedly leaked online on 26 July and when the makers learnt about the pirated content, they took immediate action. While the makers of the Laxman Utekar directorial are making sure to put down the pirated version of their movie, they decided to officially release the movie before its release date to encourage fans to watch it legally on Netflix.
The lead actor, Kriti Sanon, took to her social media handle to make the announcement of the sudden release of Mimi through an Instagram live session. The 30-year-old actress informed her fans about the sudden release of her movie and urged her fans to watch the movie on Netflix.
Helmed by Laxman Utekar, Mimi features Kriti Sanon as a surrogate mother to an American couple in a funny tale of twists and turns. The movie also features Pankaj Tripathi in a key role. It is an adaptation of the 2011 film Mala Aai Vhhaychy. The comedy-drama is now streaming on Netflix.
