Govinda has reacted to a recent tweet by actor-turned-film critic Kamaal R. Khan, or KRK, who has thanked the actor for his love and support. But Govinda, on the other hand, says that he has not been in contact with KRK for years and the person mentioned in the latter’s tweet would be someone else with the same name, as even the actor isn’t tagged in the tweet.

“Govinda Bhai thank you for your love and support. I won’t disappoint you!”- KRK had tweeted. This tweet by KRK came about when he has been involved in a legal battle with Bollywood star Salman Khan. The superstar filed a defamation case against KRK after the release of his new film “Radhe”. While KRK has claimed the suit had resulted in regards to his review of the film, Salman’s legal team objects that the defamation case is pertaining to personal attacks, made by KRK through his comments upon the star’s NGO, Being Human.

Govinda speaks upon this now and says that he read some media reports about him backing KRK which is untrue since he is not in touch with KRK for years and that included meetings, phone calls, and messages. He insists that this is a reference made to some other person by the same name as he has not been tagged in the tweet. In fact, the self-proclaimed critic had spoken and written unfit statements about Govinda and his movies in the past so he would never support him.

The actor assumes it’s an agenda to create nuisance amid the pandemic and adds that he is not even aware in-depth about the exact problem between Salman and KRK, yet his name has been dragged in the matter. He recalls a similar attempt that was made by another film critic Komal Nahata who used his name as well in an issue that was related to Kartik Aaryan losing a couple of films.

According to Salman’s legal team, the suit against KRK was filed because the latter has been publishing and endorsing defamatory allegations by calling the superstar corrupt, and that Being Human indulges in fraud, manipulation and money laundering transactions.
