Emraan Hashmi, known for his compelling villainous roles, has quashed speculations surrounding his involvement in Don 3. On February 21, 2024, the actor took to his Instagram story to address the rumors, stating, “For the fans and journalists that are asking, I was never a part of Don 3. Was never offered the movie.” Despite his recent visit to Excel Entertainment’s office, the production house behind the Don franchise, Emraan has clarified that he won’t be playing the antagonist in the upcoming film.

Ranveer Singh’s confirmation as the new Don, alongside Kiara Advani as the female lead, had already generated excitement among fans. Some were particularly hopeful about Emraan taking on a negative role, following his impactful performance in Tiger 3. However, with Emraan’s recent confirmation, this possibility has been ruled out.

In August 2023, director Farhan Akhtar paid tribute to the legacy of the Don character, originally created by Salim-Javed and first portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan. He also expressed admiration for Shah Rukh Khan’s rendition in the 2006 reboot, highlighting the significant impact both actors had on the franchise.

While Emraan Hashmi won’t be part of Don 3, slated for a 2025 release, his fans can anticipate other exciting projects. His upcoming web series, Showtime, premieres on Disney+ Hotstar on March 8, 2024. Additionally, Emraan will make his South Indian film debut in Pawan Kalyan’s OG and Adivi Sesh’s G2, showcasing the actor’s diverse ventures beyond Bollywood.
