UPDATE: Poonam Pandey has clarified the controversy surrounding her earlier reported demise, asserting that it was not a case of faking her death but a strategic effort to raise awareness about cervical cancer.

Tragic news hit the entertainment industry as Bollywood actor and model Poonam Pandey passed away on February 2 due to cervical cancer. The announcement came via a statement shared by her manager on her official Instagram handle. Celebrities such as Kangana Ranaut, Munawar Faruqui, Daisy Shah, and Pooja Bhatt expressed their grief over the loss.

Poonam Pandey’s manager, Parul Chawla, revealed that the actor had been diagnosed with the last stage of cervical cancer some time ago. Kangana Ranaut, who hosted the reality show Lock Upp, where Poonam was a contestant, mourned her death on Instagram. Kangana wrote, “This is so sad, losing a young woman to cancer is a catastrophe. Om Shanti.”

Munawar Faruqui, the winner of Bigg Boss 17 and Poonam’s co-contestant on Lock Upp, expressed his shock and sorrow on X, stating, “Shocking! can’t process the news. Poonam was a great human being. Sad. RIP.”

Daisy Shah joined others in paying respects on social media, expressing shock and sadness at Poonam Pandey’s untimely demise. She wrote, “Shocked and saddened by the news of Poonam Pandey’s demise. May her soul find tranquility, and may her loved ones find strength. Gone too soon. #PoonamPandey #RestInPeace.”

Pooja Bhatt also shared her condolences on X, reflecting on the tragedy. “So tragic to hear about #PoonamPandey. I had never met her but when life claims someone so young, it is always devastating. My prayers & deepest condolences to her family, friends & everyone whose life she impacted.”
