DCEU had a bright future ahead with a number of exciting projects in the line but the two of their major superhero movies, Aquaman 2 and The Flash, have brought in a number of troubles for the makers. While The Flash star Ezra Miller is the talk of the town for all the bad reasons, Amber Heard’s involvement in the upcoming sequel to Aquaman has been heavily criticized.
After losing the defamation lawsuit against ex-husband Johnny Depp, Amber Heard’s career has been in the trouble as filmmakers have been distancing themselves from the Paronia actress. While millions of netizens signed the online petition to boot Heard from the Aquaman franchise after Johnny Depp was ousted from the Fantastic Beasts franchise, the rumour mills suggest it is happening.
Earlier, it was reported that the makers of Aquaman 2 have been reducing the screen presence of Amber Heard’s character in the upcoming movie but the latest reports suggest that she has been ousted instead. If the sources are to be believed, Emilia Clarke has been brought onboard to replace Amber Heard as Mera and the production is reshooting the movie.
While it seems unlikely to scrap half the movie and reshoot it with a different actor at this stage, the delay in the release hints at the same. However, if it happens to be true, we will get to see Emilia Clarke and Jason Momoa reuniting after their pairing in the iconic web series, Game Of Thrones.
Helmed by James Wan, Aquaman 2 features Jason Momoa as the titular superhero character forging an uneasy alliance with an unlikely ally in a bid to save Atlantis and the rest of the planet.
