In a shocking event, American actor Alec Baldwin fatally shot a cinematographer on the set of his next movie while the director of the movie is wounded. The unfortunate incident happened on the set of Rust, a western film featuring Alec Baldwin in the lead, as the 63-year-old actor misfired a prop gun during the filming.
The cinematographer reported as Halyna Hutchins was shot in the incident and was immediately airlifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital where she was pronounced dead by the medical personnel. On the other hand, the director of the movie, Joel Souza, was injured and receiving treatment at the hospital. The authorities have confirmed that the cinematographer and director were shot by Alec Baldwin in a misfire of a prop gun in the desert on the southern outskirts of Santa Fe.
Alec Baldwin was later seen at the Sheriff’s office in tears as he voluntarily visited the authority to record his statement. The spokesperson of the actor said that there was an accident on the set involving the misfire of a prop gun with blanks, though a charge without a metal projectile is unlikely to kill at a moderate distance.
The respected authorities are investigating the matter further, however, no arrests have been made so far. The makers of the movie halt the production indefinitely.
