Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree’s sequel has surpassed expectations with its phenomenal performance at the box office. Despite being in its fourth week, the horror comedy refuses to slow down at the ticket counter and continues to raise the collections high for Amar Kaushik’s directorial. While the film continues to maintain its performance in the theatres, the fans are eagerly awaiting to watch it on OTT in the comfort of their home.
After massive love from the cinegoers and mostly positive reviews by the critics, Stree 2 is all prepared to rule the OTT platform after a smashing theatrical run. According to a report by Track Tollywood, the horror comedy will premiere on OTT on the 27th of September, although there has been no official confirmation so far.
While the makers are currently trying to squeeze the very last coin at the box office, the Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao starrer will reportedly be available on Amazon Prime Video for streaming.
Stree 2 was released in theatres on Indian Independence Day and was pitted against Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein with Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD already ruling the big screen. However, the highly anticipated horror flick not only survived but thrived through the long weekend and is currently the only strong contender at the ticket windows.
In 25 days of its release, the film has managed to add 551.44 crores to its collection, surpassing the lifetime of Sunny Deol starrer Gadar 2 and SRK’s Pathaan. Stree 2 currently stands as the seventh highest-grossing film in India with just 3 crores away from surpassing Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. While the next instalment to the franchise is already in the works, the fan may enjoy the current blockbuster on the OTT platform soon.
