Spider-Man: Brand New Day has continued its impressive run at the Indian box office, reaching an estimated ₹125 crore gross within its first two days. The Tom Holland-starrer earned approximately ₹54.50 crore gross on Friday after delivering a record opening on Thursday.
The film’s Friday collection translates to around ₹45 crore net, reflecting a drop of nearly 23 per cent from its opening day. Despite the decline, the second-day performance remains strong, particularly for a film that arrived in cinemas during the middle of the week.
On Thursday, Spider-Man: Brand New Day collected approximately ₹58 crore net and ₹70.50 crore gross. Its Friday earnings took the two-day total to around ₹103 crore net and ₹125 crore gross in India.
These figures do not include the additional amount charged for 3D screenings. When the full 3D charges are counted, the film’s estimated two-day gross rises to approximately ₹137 crore. The official figures are understood to include only a portion of the 3D surcharge received by the distributor.
The decline on Friday varied across different markets. Larger metropolitan centres such as Mumbai and Delhi-NCR recorded comparatively limited drops of between 10 and 20 per cent. Southern markets and Hindi-speaking mass circuits witnessed steeper declines ranging from 30 to 35 per cent.
The second-day slowdown is considered a normal trend for a major release that opened on a Thursday. Based on its current trajectory, the film is expected to return to opening-day levels on Saturday and could potentially surpass its Thursday collection.
With two more days remaining in its extended opening weekend, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is currently on course to comfortably cross ₹250 crore gross in India. Its performance has already established it as the biggest Hollywood opener in the country.
The film’s prospects of becoming the highest-grossing Hollywood release in India will depend heavily on its performance after the extended weekend. Monday’s collection is likely to provide a clearer indication of how strongly the film can sustain its theatrical run.
