Salman Khan is busy promoting his upcoming Eid release Bharat starring Katrina Kaif in the female lead. During one of the promotional events, Salman once again took a dig towards Priyanka Chopra who was the signed for the movie but abandoned it for her marriage to Nick Jonas and Katrina Kaif was roped in for her replacement.

His remarks against Priyanka’s choice didn’t go well with the singer Sona Mohapatra and she opposed his opinion through her Twitter account and wrote, “A showcase & poster child of toxic masculinity. Low brow dig at not only a woman who was not in the room but a disgusting disregard & contempt for the woman & colleague sitting next to him in the same room. Unless we call out such serial bad behaviour, nothing changes, #India .? (sic)”

However, her comment irked many Salman Khan fans and they started sending her death threats over her social media handle. Known for her bold opinions and taking a stand against the wrongdoers, Sona Mohapatra shared screenshots of those death threats on her Twitter account and claimed that Salman Khan doesn’t deserve to play the titular character of Bharat.

She wrote, “Such & such mails come my way regularly , from the followers of this ‘hero’ of bad behaviour. ??This beacon of ‘human’ values who inspires such serial toxic behaviour is actually claiming the title of #Bharat , drawing parallels with our great nation, nothing lesser. @NCWIndia (sic)”

Talking about Salman Khan, his upcoming period drama Bharat will hit theatres on 5th of June, on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, with Katrina Kaif, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover and Tabu in the pivotal roles.
