A big-budget Bollywood biopic based on the life of Lalit Modi is reportedly under development. Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is set to back the project through Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
The film is expected to examine the different phases of Modi’s life, including his influence on Indian sport and entertainment, his association with the creation and expansion of the Indian Premier League, and the controversies that followed his rise.
Rather than focusing only on the public headlines, the makers reportedly intend to explore the person behind Modi’s widely discussed image. His journey offers several chapters for the film, ranging from business and cricket to power, success and controversy.
Writer and producer Sneha Rajani is part of the project’s writing and development team. Modi had previously confirmed that a screen adaptation of his life was being planned and that Rajani was leading the team working on it.
The project is currently in its writing and development stage. The makers are said to be taking time with the screenplay before proceeding with production, given the scale and complexity of the story.
The biopic is expected to be mounted on a lavish canvas. However, its director, lead actor, supporting cast and filming schedule have not yet been announced.
