Alia Bhatt has reportedly started shooting for Tumbbad 2 alongside her ongoing work on Love and War. According to sources, the actress is currently filming an extended cameo for the much-awaited sequel, and her role is expected to play a major part in the future of the franchise.
As per reports, Alia’s appearance in Tumbbad 2 is not limited to a brief special role. The character is said to be deeply connected to the film’s narrative and will reportedly continue into Tumbbad 3, where she is expected to emerge as one of the central leads alongside Sohum Shah.
Sources suggest that the actress has allotted around 15 days for the shoot and is expected to complete her portions by the end of May. After that, she will reportedly return to the final schedule of Love and War, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The film is currently targeting a Republic Day 2027 release.
Meanwhile, Tumbbad 3 is reportedly planned to go on floors soon after the release of the second instalment, making Alia’s addition a significant development for the expanding horror-fantasy universe.
The original Tumbbad gained cult status over the years for its atmospheric storytelling, mythology-inspired horror, and unique visual style. With the sequel already generating strong buzz, Alia Bhatt’s reported involvement is expected to add even more excitement around the franchise.
