English singer and songwriter, Zayn Malik, recently got into a nasty brawl with a man outside a New York club and a video of the fight has taken the internet by storm. In the short video clip, shirtless Zayn can be seen using a homophobic slur in response to the attack by an unknown man.
The incident took place on Friday night at Amsterdam Billiards Club in East Village where the actor was smoking a cigarette when an unknown man tried to pick up a fight with the 28-year-old singer. While there was no physical altercation between the two, the man can be seen lunging at Zayn and the two were separated by a group of people.
Zayn reportedly had his shirt inside the club and he was smoking outside when the alleged man started hurling abuses at him and picked up a pick for no reason mentioned as of now. However, when the man used a homophobic slur at the singer, he reciprocated with the same and created controversy on social media platforms. While the majority of Twitterati are in support of Zayn and says that the slur was an unintended reflex to the man, some expressed their hatred against the singer for disrespecting the LGBT community by using the word.
The singer has refrained from commenting on the incident so far.
