Redo Times brought the third edition of Feronia Fashion Night in association with Avantika University, Ujjain and It by It professionals, Jaipur. The fashion show was held on 1st September 2019 at The Grand Bhagwati Palace, Indore. Feronia Fashion Night is an initiative to raise awareness on the very sensitive topic of gender equality and LBTQ inclusiveness. It is a first of its kind event that showcases Androgynous Fashion – A form of fashion that focuses on breaking the archaic gender stereotype.

This is the only event in India that features all the models from the LGBTQ community providing the models with a platform to showcase their talents and get further opportunities. The models were presented with the gift hampers from Repechage India, a premium global skincare brand and provided makeup services by ShikhaHolkar from Shades Salon Indore, the top hair and make – up studio in Madhya Pradesh.
“Dream is an expensive ornament to adorn your hope”

Feronia Gen-Next was launched with precisely the same idea in mind. It is a platform for young and talented student designers who aspire to showcase their collections alongside prominent designers of India and abroad in front of all the shutterbugs from the media and eminent personalities of the industry. Manisha Rituparna, an aspiring fashion designer studying at Amity University, Noida made the best use of the opportunity to present her collection at the show.

Titled Rasarkeli, her collection represented the rich culture of western Odisha. Inspired from the popular traditional folklore, the collection showcases liveliness, vibrancy and positivity by retaining the traditional essence of the art and amalgamating it with modern silhouettes. The media dubbed her collection as “Personification of Poise”. It seemed like a heritage tour to Odisha. An ardent follower of fusion music, the chief guests of the evening lavished praise on Manisha saying, “If the songs of Prem Joshua had a silhouette, we are pretty sure it was what we witnessed!”

The audience was completely on – board with the culture trip that Manisha was taking them to and showered their appreciation through constant applause.
